My Favorite Mistakes So Far

Mistakes are only useful if they change how you think.

Some of my best mistakes were the ones that taught me to scope harder, write clearer, and ship earlier.

A good mistake is annoying in the moment and obvious later. It gives you a cleaner model of what to do next time.

The worst mistakes are the ones you keep repeating because you refuse to learn from them.

I like mistakes that make the next decision easier. They are expensive, but useful.

If you are building honestly, you should expect to collect a few of those.

The nice thing about mistakes is that they eventually become instructions. The code gets cleaner, the writing gets clearer, and the product gets smaller in the right places. That is the kind of learning that actually changes future work.

A project that never produces mistakes is probably not moving fast enough to teach anything meaningful. The goal is not to break things recklessly. The goal is to move in a way that keeps the learning alive.
