AI Is Becoming the New Operating System

The operating system used to be the place where software lived. Increasingly, AI is becoming the place where software gets directed.

That does not mean the old OS disappears. It means the center of gravity moves toward a layer that understands context, decides what to do, and invokes the right tools.

Once that layer becomes reliable, users stop thinking in terms of apps as often. They think in terms of outcomes.

That shift matters because it changes what software is for. Interfaces matter less when intent can be translated into action automatically.

The companies that understand this will build systems around memory, orchestration, and agents rather than just screens and buttons.

We are not there yet, but the direction is obvious enough to build toward.
